On 09
December 2025, Dr Enock Mathebula, Founder and Chairman of the Enock Mathebula
Foundation (EMF), delivered a distinguished lecture at St Anne’s College,
University of Oxford, United Kingdom. The lecture focused on Rare Earth Mining
and why it represents the future of global economic and industrial development.
The event
was hosted by the London Institute of Skills Development, in partnership with
The Royal Club, and brought together academics, industry leaders, and
professionals interested in sustainable development, mining innovation, and
economic transformation.
In his
address, Dr Mathebula shared insights drawn from his extensive experience in
the mining sector, highlighting the strategic importance of rare earth minerals
in advancing technology, clean energy, and future industries. As Executive
Chairman and Shareholder of Steenkamp Kraal Mine, a rare earth mining
operation, Dr Mathebula is recognized as a key voice in shaping conversations
around responsible mining and economic growth.
Following
the lecture, Dr Mathebula was awarded an Honorary Professorship in Business
Revolution, a prestigious recognition conferred in acknowledgement of his
meritorious contribution to his profession and industry. The honorary title
celebrates his leadership, innovation, and impact within the business and
mining sectors.
The award
marks a significant personal and professional milestone for Dr Mathebula,

Born and raised in Phalaborwa by a single mother, Dr Mathebula’s journey from

development through his role as Founder and Chairman of the Enock Mathebula

Skills Development to create opportunities for less privileged young people in
